Join us as our Senior Manager Devices & vendor relations (Chapter Lead – Devices)
The senior manager of Devices (Chapter Lead) owns Three Ireland’s end-to-end devices strategy and vendor relations. This leader builds a high-performing Devices team, directs commercial negotiations and vendor funding (MSF), sets the device and accessories ranging roadmap, and represents Three Ireland across global procurement and policy forums. Success in this role means delivering category growth, market-leading launches, resilient supply, and strategic partnerships that keep Three at the forefront of mobile technology.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Devices chapter/team; create a high-performance culture focused on execution, growth, and collaboration.
  • Build team capability in relationship management and commercial negotiation skills. Own and guide all vendor relationships for Three Ireland (e.g., Apple, Samsung, Honor, Google Pixel, and others).
  • Set vendor strategy and execute quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with senior management engagement.
  • Lead negotiation planning and execution, including contract negotiations and escalations.
  • Own vendor funding (MSF) targets and quarterly planning; align internal stakeholders to achieve targets.
  • Lead global quarterly RFP sessions; direct recovery of MSF from vendors as required.
  • Define and lead the device ranging portfolio strategy for Three Ireland to keep the brand at the forefront of technology.
  • Drive future-tech insight generation and education; identify opportunities for future ranges.
  • Present and align the half-year device range with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Own accessory partnerships; track core accessory margin performance; oversee core accessory ranging aligned to handsets.
  • Lead Three Ireland’s contribution to CKIOD/central procurement monthly sessions and quarterly global forums.
  • Support updates for Group Policy Board meetings.
  • Plan and drive senior engagement for major tech conferences (e.g., Mobile World Congress) to build vendor partnerships.
  • Support government teams on tenders as needed.
  • Support flagship launches and communications; lead non-flagship launches end-to-end.
  • Partner with the Supply Chain Chapter Lead on strategic direction.
  • Support C-level partner engagement, commercial negotiations, and issue escalations with senior vendors.

Must-Haves

  • Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary commercial teams with a track record of coaching and developing talent.
  • Deep vendor management experience across tier-1 OEMs and accessory partners; comfortable leading QBRs and executive engagements.
  • Expert commercial negotiation skills, including contract negotiation and MSF/funding structures; able to drive planning, alignment, and recovery.
  • Ranging strategy ownership: demonstrated capability to set device and accessory portfolios and present half-year plans to stakeholders.
  • Global procurement exposure: experience participating in/leading RFPs and central procurement forums.
  • Launch leadership: history of delivering flagship and non-flagship launches with cross-functional coordination.
  • Stakeholder management: ability to work with Supply Chain leaders and government tender teams; strong executive communication.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Future-tech evangelism: recognized ability to scout, assess, and educate the business on emerging device technologies and trends.
  • Policy/governance familiarity: experience preparing materials for Group Policy Board or similar governance bodies.
  • Conference representation: track record of orchestrating senior vendor engagement at industry events (e.g., MWC).
  • Advanced analytical capability for portfolio optimization (e.g., margin/mix modeling across devices and accessories).
  • C-suite vendor engagement: comfort handling escalations with global partners at executive level.

Key Success Metrics

  • MSF achievement vs. quarterly targets and recovery rate.
  • Device and accessory margin and revenue growth vs. plan.
  • Launch excellence (on-time, sell-in/sell-through, NPS).
  • Vendor satisfaction and QBR outcomes (joint roadmap, commitments met).
  • Team engagement scores and capability uplift (e.g., negotiation certification, skills milestones).
