Your Role:
The Sustainability Strategy and Development Senior Manager will oversee and manage the day-to- day delivery of the Bank¿s Sustainability Strategy and Sustainability Programme. Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, this role will oversee and manage all Sustainability Governance, Communications and Training, alongside managing the Bank¿s Carbon Reduction Plan and Social and Community Programmes.
Your Team:
Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, you will be accountable for leading PTSB¿s Sustainability Strategy, Governance and Social Impact Team as part of the Bank¿s Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Function.
The Sustainability Strategy, Governance and Social Impact Team is responsible for setting and overseeing the delivery of the Sustainability Strategy, Governance, Communications and Training programmes. In addition, this team is responsible for Carbon Management, Science Based Targets and Carbon Reduction Plans, as well as the Bank¿s Community Partnerships and Social Impact agenda. The team comprises of 2 x L3 Managers and 1 x L4 Sustainability Specialist.
Your Responsibilities:
Functional Strategy & Delivery
- Lead a team of Sustainability specialists fostering an inclusive high-performance culture within the function, ensuring team members are developed to meet organisational goals through effective coaching in a supportive and motivating environment.
- Work alongside the Head of Sustainability in engaging stakeholders bankwide to implement a refreshed Sustainability Strategy for PTSB and oversee the day-to-day delivery and embedding of this Strategy.
Risk Management & Control
- Responsibility for developing and updating Sustainability Frameworks, Policies, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and the Bank¿s Sustainability commitments.
- Take ownership of ensuring that the Bank¿s Internal Control Framework adequately incorporates Sustainability, including Climate-related and Environmental Risk.
Lead an inspiring Culture
- The ability to navigate stakeholders at all levels across the Bank to create buy-in and support for the Sustainability agenda is one of the most critical requirements of this role.
- You must demonstrate the right leadership behaviours in line with the Bank¿s values and be a person that acts with complete integrity, honesty and delivers for the good of the Bank as a whole.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Responsibility for all Sustainability communications internally and externally and partner with the Corporate Affairs Team to develop a Communications Strategy that adequately represents the Bank¿s progress in Sustainability.
- Engage with external stakeholders as required to present the Bank¿s Sustainability Strategy delivery and goals (Investors, Ratings Agency, Media, Conferences etc.)
Requirements:
Essential
- Minimum of 5+ years¿ experience and demonstrable track record of achievement in Sustainability or a relevant area, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership/management role.
- Relevant 3rd Level qualification (Degree, Masters) in a related field
- Proven experience and track record of delivery in a leadership role involving significant transformation and culture change with measurable outcomes.
