Senior Medical Scientist, Blood Transfusion

Our Pathology Department is committed to providing a high quality, efficient and comprehensive service to our users. Our Pathology Laboratory is accredited by the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB) to undertake testing as detailed in the ‘scope of accreditation’ listed on the INAB website (Registration Number 232MT), in compliance with International Standard ISO 15189 and the EU blood Directive 2002/98/EC.

The purpose of this role is to perform routine, specialised and research/development work to the highest professional standards, as determined by the Laboratory Management Team. The successful canidate will·be responsible for the quality of their work and carry out their duties in accordance with Hospital policy. They must observe the strictest confidence when dealing with all aspects of patient or hospital information. They must help coordinate the Quality System in the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital to comply with the EU Blood Directive in the position of Quality Officer
