Senior Medical Scientist, National Isolation Unit
The National Isolation Unit (NIU), for adult patients, is located at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Dublin and is the national referral centre for high risk suspected and confirmed cases of VHF/high consequence infectious diseases (HCID). It is designed to admit, isolate and treat patients suspected or diagnosed with highly infectious diseases that are referred from all over Ireland who have both hazardous and highly infectious diseases. The Unit will also provide essential care of infectious diseases stemming from bioterrorism
The Mater Hospital are curtrently recruiting for a Senior Medical Scientist for the National Isolation Unit (NIU). The purpose of this post is to support the delivery and development of the NIU Laboratory Service under the guidance of the NIU Specialist Medical Scientist, Chief Medical Scientists in POCT and Lead NIU Consultant in compliance with best practice and the requirements of ISO 15189.
