Senior Medical Social Worker

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

1. To assist the Principal Medical Social Worker with Team Support, supervision and development;

2. To keep Principal Medical Social Worker informed on matters pertaining to casework practice particularly in relation to critical cases or Department matters and informed on social work team developments;

3. To actively participate in the ongoing review and future development of the Medical Social Work Department and of the services provided;

4. To carry out responsibilities of a Senior Medical Social Worker within the Medical Social Work Department as assigned by the Principal Medical Social Worker, including providing professional clinical supervision of main grade social work staff;

5. To provide a direct Medical Social Work service to patients, their partners and families.
