Senior Occupational Therapist

Caredoc is seeking to employ a Senior Occupational Therapist on a specific purpose basis to cover a period of leave as part of their multidisciplinary Community Intervention Team (CIT).

Post: Senior Occupational Therapist.

Specific purpose basis for a period of six months.

Caredoc Community Intervention Team (CIT) is a specialist, health professional team which provides a rapid and integrated response to a patient with an acute episode of illness who requires enhanced services/acute intervention for a defined short period of time. This may be provided at home or in a local primary care clinic in the community as deemed appropriate, thereby avoiding acute hospital attendance or admission, or facilitating early discharge from hospital.

The Wexford CIT service, through its fast-tracked provision of services, provides access to a blended model of nursing, occupational therapy and physiotherapy. CIT referrals are accepted from hospitals and GP’s.

The CIT Occupational Therapists work with patients and carers, to support the patient to remain in their own home. The team's aim is to maintain or increase independence and the ability to carry out daily living tasks, working with other CIT team members, nursing and physiotherapists for improved patient outcomes in collaboration with acute hospital and primary care team occupational therapists.

Applicants must possess the following:

• Registration with CORU.
• A minimum of 3 years post registration experience.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
• Full clean manual drivers’ licence (Vehicle provided).
• Ability to organise and prioritise time and workload.
• Be proficient in IT.
• Proven ability to work as part of a multi disciplinary team.
