Senior Operator Grade 3 – Packaging Operations

Location: Craigavon, Northern Ireland
Working Hours: Positions available on the following shifts:

  • Rotating shift pattern working 06:00 – 14:00 and 14:00 – 22:00 (37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday)
  • Fixed Nightshift: 22:00-06:00 Sunday to Thursday (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: £16.54 per hour +shift premium, annual bonus and excellent benefits package

About the role

The Packaging department within Almac Pharma Services is responsible for packing medicines for delivery to patients and healthcare providers around the world. We package and label drug products including tablets, capsules, blister packs, cartons, and vials, ensuring compliance with strict quality and safety standards including temperature control of the product.

We currently have opportunities to join our highly skilled team in the role of Senior Operator Grade 3, based at our state-of-the-art custom designed facilities in Craigavon.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the team: Train and develop Operators and Grade 2 Senior Operators and ensure all training is documented. Organise and manage team members to ensure compliance with GMP, SOPs, batch documentation and Health and Safety policies.
  • Run high‑quality operations: Ensure room layouts, packing targets, set‑up and reconciliation times are understood by all relevant staff and expectations are met; Operate required equipment to produce full batch of product and complete the batch record documentation accurately; Maintain clear communication between production and other departments, ensuring documentation and materials are available on time to fully meet schedule targets.
  • Drive improvement: Use your production experience and expertise to reduce downtime, track variances, implement corrective actions; Drive the accurate completion of production documentation and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Champion compliance: Maintain GMP and SOP adherence, conduct supervisory checks, manage documentation, and report any quality or compliance concerns at the earliest opportunity.

About you (key requirements)

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Experience: Proven background leading teams in a production environment with machinery and quality control of the product. Experience operating process equipment is desirable.
  • Qualifications: GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent level qualification) in English, Maths, and Science; plus NQF Level 3 Qualification (e.g., A‑Level, NVQ/BTEC Level 3) or significant relevant experience working in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, clear communication (written and verbal), high‑standard documentation, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
