Senior Ortopaedic Outpetient Physiotherapist - Permanent Full-time (35 hours per week)

Purpose of Post

The purpose of this post is to ensure that the extension of the Elective Orthopaedic Physiotherapy service to include a Saturday / Sunday service and Day Surgery Hip and Knee Arthroplasty, does not impact on the current Physiotherapy service.

· To provide quality, patient focused Physiotherapy service, in the inpatient or outpatient area, on the days where the physiotherapists normally covering those areas are rostered off, having covered the Elective Orthopaedic service the weekend prior/ or as per service needs / requirements.

· To liaise with and provide a comprehensive handover to the physiotherapist normally covering the area.

· The post holder will be required to participate in the Sat/Sun Elective Orthopaedic physiotherapy roster. Where necessary, training to achieve competency in Inpatient Elective Orthopaedics will take place on the days when inpatient or outpatient cover is not required.

· The post holder will be required to maintain Inpatient Elective Orthopaedic competency and engage in continuing professional development in Inpatient Elective Orthopaedic physiotherapy.

· The post holder will be required to participate in the Respiratory On Call rota. Where necessary, training to achieve competency in Respiratory On Call will take place on the days when inpatient or outpatient area cover is not required.

The post holder will be required to maintain Respiratory On Call competency and engage in continuing professional development in Respiratory On Call physiotherapy.
