What is the Role:
This role offers a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business, technology and regulation in a fast-paced environment.
As a Senior Business analyst, you will be involved in ensuring that each change is aligned to AIB’s payment strategy and be involved in shaping digital solutions that yield real value for both customers and the bank. You will be expected to analyse complex issues, understand business challenges and drive ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ process design in order to deliver solutions that align to current and future business needs.
This role demands strong analytical capability, confident stakeholder engagement, and the ability to operate independently in fast‑paced, Agile‑focused environments.
Key Accountabilities:
- Own and progress end-to-end delivery of payments change (strategic, regulatory and remedial), from initiation through to implementation and benefits realisation.
- Analyse current (‘as-is’) payments journeys and design ‘to-be’ processes, ensuring customer outcomes, operational viability and control requirements are met.
- Partner with Technology and service providers to translate requirements into workable solutions, managing dependencies, scope, assumptions and change impacts.
- Lead and coordinate change governance, including preparation of materials for project forums/steerco, RAID management, and timely status reporting.
- Build strong relationships across Payments, Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Technology, influencing decisions and simplifying complexity to deliver outcomes.
What you Will Bring:
- 5–6 years of business analysis experience with the ability to translate complex problems into structured solutions.
- Relevant experience gained in the area of payments and transaction banking with knowledge of Low and High Value Payments, Cross Border Payments and key regulations & associated IT impacts, affecting the Payments market, such as Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), Instant Payments, Payment Services Directive, Cross Border payments etc. Relevant professional qualification would be advantageous.
- Proven ability to work independently, adapt to shifting priorities, and drive clarity in ambiguous situations.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess impacts, identify risks, and manage dependencies
- Strong, concise, accurate and effective written and oral communications, must be able to communicate and coordinate with individuals across all levels of AIB.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in problem solving and change management across multiple functional areas with the ability to drive decision making.
