Senior Physicist
Purpose of the Role
To provide medical physics services and scientific support to ensure that relevant diagnostic modalities are functioning safely, effectively, in compliance with all relevant regulations, and to the necessary standards as set by professional bodies and have responsibility for the day-to-day management for delivery of the medical physics services and technical quality assurance (QA) programmes.
To provide scientific and technical expertise and support management activities in delivering high quality services in a multi-disciplinary environment for diagnostic imaging, radiation protection, nuclear medicine, MRI, ultrasound, lasers and UV phototherapy
Essential Criteria:
- Hold a recognised Master’s in Medical Physics or equivalent.
- Hold a first or second class Hons Degree (level 8) in which Physics was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject
- Have at least five years satisfactory relevant experience as a medical physicist, in one or more of the following fields: Diagnostic Imaging, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Protection, Radiological Physics, or Medical Imaging.
- Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and of administrative capacity) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
