Senior Physiotherapist, Acute Neurology

The job summary is to:

• To co-lead the design, co-ordination and delivery of an effective and efficient acute neurology and rehabilitation service, based on assessment of needs and in co-operation with the clinical specialist and physiotherapist managers.
• To be an influential member of the acute neurology physiotherapy team and to carry out specific responsibilities and duties within that team
• In co-operation with the clinical specialist, provide leadership and operational management for the physiotherapy acute neurology and rehabilitation service and for development of the service and team, especially in terms of clinical governance.
• To be a key member of the interdisciplinary team acting as senior decision-maker to coordinate and manage the care of acute neurology patients, acute brain injury patients and patients with acute vestibular issues in accordance with the mission, values and strategic plan of the organisation.
• To engage in service development, evidence based practice, audit, risk assessment and implementation of change as required.
• To engage with the development of the physiotherapy team and support the education and training of basic grade and assistant staff and undergraduate and post-graduate clinical education.
