0.3 wte (21 hours per fortnight) CDNT 7 East Cork City based in Carrigtwohill
JOB SUMMARY
These permanent posts are with the Carrigaline/Kinsale / Bandon (13) Childrens Disability Network Team which is based in both the Carrigaline and Bandon Primary Care Centres and East Cork (7) Children’s Disability Network Team which is based in Carrigtwohill. The successful candidates will have a caseload in the Carrigaline, Kinsale and Bandon area for CDNT 13 and Carrigtwohill CDNT 7 and will be expected to drive within these areas.
These posts involve working as part of an interdisciplinary team providing supports to children and young adults, 0-18 yrs and their families. This will include children with Intellectual, Physical, Sensory disability, children on the Autistic Spectrum and children at risk of or query developmental delay; where their needs the support of an interdisciplinary team. This team is under the national model of service provision “Progressing Disability Services” for Children and Young People” lead by the HSE.
The successful candidate will be employed by Corlann South. Assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions are provided by Cork CDNT’s Interdisciplinary team. The CDNT aims to maximise the child / young adult’s full potential and works within the context of the family and community, empowering and supporting parents/ care givers and family members. The reporting relationship is to the Children’s Disability Network Manager locally and Clinical supervision will be provided by the Head of Discipline.
The Candidate:
3. Health
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
4. Age
The Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act, 2018* set 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public servants.
* Public Servants not affected by this legislation:
Public servants recruited between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012 (new entrants) have no compulsory retirement age.
Public servants recruited since 1 January 2013 are members of the Single Pension Scheme and have a compulsory retirement age of 70.
5. Character
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
6. Driving Licence: A full clean Driver’s licence which qualifies you to drive on Irish roads is essential.
The person appointed will be required to provide their own transport during the duration of employment and will be paid travel expenses at the appropriate rates in respect of travel necessarily performed in the discharge or his/her duties. The base for this purpose will be the location to which the appointee is assigned.
Salary Scale: €64,551 – €76,007 per annum and pro-rata if working part-time hours (Department of Health Consolidated Scales 1/2/26).
* Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of starting date. Failure to do so will mean that any incremental credit due now will only be paid from date of submission of documents.
Reporting to: Children’s Disability Network Manager. Clinical supervision will be provided by the Head of Discipline.
