Senior Physiotherapist In Paediatric Musculoskeletal / Orthopaedics

Purpose of the Role

• The post holder will be expected to live CHI values and be child-centered, compassionate, progressive and will act with respect, excellence and integrity.
• Provide appropriate physiotherapeutic assessment and treatment in accordance with current best practice to infants and children referred to the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team. This intervention will be primarily outpatient-based and will incorporate specialties such as elective and trauma Orthopaedics and other specialties requiring musculoskeletal physiotherapy input.
• A wider Musculoskeletal caseload including inpatients may be allocated from time to time for the purposes of maintaining skillset and expertise and for reasons of cross cover within the wider Musculoskeletal physiotherapy team and where there are greater service needs.
• Attend consultant clinics including Ponseti clinic, ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings as appropriate.
• Work in partnership with the multidisciplinary teams as appropriate.
• Be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, formulation of a problem list and treatment plan and discharge planning for each patient in the clinical caseload carried.

Essential Criteria:

• Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU – candidates must state CORU registration number on application, or CORU application number and date of submission if still awaiting registration number in the case of section 91 applicants.

And

• All candidates must have three years full time (or equivalent) years post-qualification clinical experience of which one year is in the area of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
• Strong clinical background & previous experience in Paediatric Physiotherapy of minimum one year
• Demonstrate evidence of recent formal continuing professional development relevant to the required area of specialism, in the form of post-graduate qualifications or relevant courses
