A permanent vacancy currently exists within Mid and East Antrim Borough Council for the following post and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates:-
Senior Planning Officer
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: PO4, SCP 37 – 40, £49,817 - £53,051
Location: Ardeevin, Ballymena. The premises are wheelchair accessible and there are accessible toilets.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Provide professional and technical advice, guidance and recommendations and carry out all the functions associated with the delivery of the Council’s responsibilities and statutory functions in respect of Planning.
Lead and manage a small team ensuring that processes relating to the area of responsibility are discharged correctly and that team members play a full part in the efficient and effective delivery of a professional planning service for the Borough.
Interface with the Council’s Planning Committee and represent the Council at Independent Examination and planning appeal hearings.

The shortlisting panel will base shortlisting decisions on the information contained within the Essential Criteria narrative sections of the application form.
