Job Overview

The Manufacturing, Science and Technology function is responsible for leading cross functional teams in identifying the root cause of out of specification results, investigating and resolving production issues to ensure product quality and process reliability, monitoring of process data to identify trends, execute process improvements to increase manufacturing efficiency and working in partnership with R&D to transfer and scale up new products into commercial manufacturing. The Senior Process Engineer role will involve working with key manufacturing principles such as continuous process improvement, problem solving, product responsibility as well as new product introduction (NPI). Monitor all process parameters impacting product quality in responsible suites. Work alongside R&D and Process Validations to identify Critical Process Parameters and develop trending of Critical Process Parameters for commercial manufacturing. Work in a continuous improvement capacity, always striving to better and standardise the process in the most effective way possible. You will be responsible for leading OOS investigations, determining root cause and implementing Corrective Actions to prevent reoccurrence. The role will require effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, manufacturing teams, quality teams, engineering teams, R&D and customers.

Main Activities/Tasks
  • Lead OOS investigations and work closely with other departments to develop robust CAPA’S to prevent reoccurrence, authoring of relevant documentation (i.e protocols / reports) to progress the investigation to conclusion and ensure timely disposition of all material in QT that is relevant to the investigation area
  • Working to identify process variation that could have potential effect on products and support implementation of corrective and preventative actions
  • Monitoring of process parameters on batches manufactured in responsible suites, develop SPC monitoring systems and Out of Controls Action Plans (OCAP’s)
  • Work closely with Operations team to improve manufacturing performance
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and troubleshoot day to day technical production issues
Essential Criteria:
  • Applicants must therefore demonstrate the following essential criteria on their application form in order to be considered: 
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Chemical, Process, Product or related engineering or degree in chemistry
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a process engineer or in a technical role working in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record in technical process improvement
  • Excellent problem-solving skill and highly proficient in root cause analysis including proficiency in the use of statistical analysis to identify trends and outliers
