Senior Project Manager EHR Technical Delivery
Purpose of role:
The successful delivery of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Technical Programme is critical to the operational readiness and long-term success of the new National Children’s Hospital Ireland. This programme encompasses a wide range of technical domains, including Epic hosting, application upgrades, security, medical device integration, and specialist clinical systems across laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology services.
To ensure the timely and effective implementation of these components, Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) requires a highly skilled and experienced team to support the technical delivery workstreams. This includes planning, deployment, testing, and ongoing support across both EHR and non-EHR technical domains.
The CHI EHR Programme has an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, experienced Senior Project Manager who can support in the following areas:
- Epic Technical Hosting & Applications: Support for hosting environments, application upgrades, and patching.
- Security: Oversight of access controls, authentication, and data protection.
- End User Devices (EUD): Deployment and configuration of clinical and administrative devices.
- Client deployment and management, i.e. Kuiper administration, Rover/Canto/Haiku.
- Login and Authentication: Integration with identity management systems.
- Business Continuity: Technical planning for downtime and disaster recovery.
- Medical Devices Integration: Support for Medical Equipment Integration and Alarm Management Systems.
- Specialist Clinical Systems: Including working with Laboratory, Pharmacy, Healthcare Technology, and Radiology.
- Technical Readiness: Planning, equipping, and deployment of infrastructure.
- Technical Dress Rehearsal (TDR) Workstreams:
- EHR TDR
- Non-EHR TDR
- Specialist TDR
- Site-Specific Support
- Operational Support:
- Starters and onboarding
- External vendor coordination
- Testing support
- Service desk integration
- Other NCHI Planning Activities: As required by CHI
Experience in one or many of the above areas is not mandatory but will be highly regarded. Project management experience across applications and/or technical domains will also be highly regarded.
Essential Criteria:
- A third level degree/post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics or a healthcare discipline plus a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a relevant and similar role
OR
- 5+ years experience in a relevant and similar role
