Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Monaghan/London/Site

Department: Commercial

Reporting to: Commercial Director

Errigal is a market leading construction company; with specialist expertise in partition systems, external façade, interior fitout, ceilings and bespoke solutions are seeking Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding Commercial Department. Role:

This role will have full responsibility for monitoring and working on building projects, ensuring that jobs are completed on time and within budget, to the highest standards as expected from Errigal. The role will involve managing of schedules of works, delegating tasks to senior colleagues and their teams ensuring that each phase of the build is completed as planned and liaising with the client

Principal Duties & Key Deliverables

  • Validation of all tender and construction budgets to ensure strict compliance to agreed margins
  • Oversee the logistical requirements of a project
  • Preparation of project costs, assisting with preparation of project costs and evaluations, issuing tender enquiries and reporting on comparatives
  • Meeting regularly with clients, third parties, and Managers to report on progress
  • Work closely with the procurement division to manage the procurement process from inception to completion.
  • Assessment and agreement of sub-contractor and supplier variations
  • Manage the preparation and submission of applications for interim payment certificates and agreements of same with client representatives
  • Actively manage dispute resolution and claims should they arise
  • Monitor and ensure correct procedures are followed on site in relation to any activity with commercial implications
  • Prepare final accounts
  • Responsibility of maintaining site records, control documents
  • Responsibility of measuring progress on site
  • Interpretation of Contract Law and review of JCT contracts
  • Regularly review timings, budget, labour, risk and project plans to ensure works stays on track
  • Reporting to clients and Senior Directors on project progress
  • Recommending policy and procedure improvements
  • Ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled
  • Ensuring delivery of high quality of work within agreed timescales
  • Dealing with contract disputes and mitigating the impact of any issues

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Ideal candidate will have proven experience in QS/Commercial similar role
  • Excellent level of awareness and competence in assessing contract documents and contract requirements.
  • Proven ability to organise time and workload
  • Knowledge in Facades and Dry Lining
