Senior Research & Insights Manager

Job Description

The Insights & Planning Manager’s role is responsible for leading consumer research for the daa group, over-seeing the execution of the existing research programme and managing all ad-hoc research requests. This role works to make sure that the research programme is fully leveraged, applying planning and analysis skills to deliver insights in support of daa products and services and in meeting consumer and customer needs. This role manages the research programme for Dublin Airport and supports Cork and broader daa group as required, including daaI and ARI.

This role will work directly with teams right across the organisation, from front line teams to senior leaders to develop and execute consumer/customer focused strategy. The role will independently lead cross-functional project teams, helping to identify and evaluate critical customer priorities and/or strategic problems and to catalyse action through business planning. 

Responsibilities

Technical Activities 

  • Collaborate with internal clients to understand their research, insight and planning requirements, matching these to the research programme 
  • Select appropriate research methodologies, complying with daa tender selection process
  • Oversee all research activity, with input into methodologies, questionnaire development etc
  • Conduct consumer, competitive, and market analyses, field research and develop action plans
  • Frame complex and ambiguous issues, providing thought leadership 
  • Facilitate strategic dialogues with leading industry partners/providers to identify “best” practices and opportunities to drive change, including ACI, CAR, CSO, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland

Lead Managment

  • Be an exemplar of daa’s Leadership Standard and company values in leading the Insights team and projects across daa
  • Lead and develop team members to perform to highest standards with a focus on meeting team and area objectives 
  • Support team members in development technical skills, building capacity and depth in the team for the future 

Vendor Relationship Management 

  • Ensure best value from suppliers and demonstrable return on investment 
  • Work with suppliers to ensure highest standards of data management, report writing, actionable recommendations and grounded insights 
  • Investigate, develop, and implement new research techniques as required: audience reaction panel, on-line surveys, ethnography etc 

Customer Journey 

  • Manage the research dimension of the programme at key touchpoints, collaborating and coordinating with cross functional teams delivering robust information findings to enable the organisation to make decisions to improve the customer experience

Qualifications

Experience

A minimum of 5 yrs market research or associated experience, client, or agency side.

A minimum of 1 yrs experience operating at senior researcher level, as agent or client.

Skills

Strong analytical skills and extensive experience in range of research methodologies 

Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally 

Experienced in design, execution, and analysis of standard research methodologies 

Ability to design and execute multiple research programmes simultaneously 

Strong strategic thinker with good problem-solving skills 

Excellent organisational skills 

Experience in managing agency relationships 

Self-starter with hands on approach 

Good people management and influencing skills 

Excellent communicator – both verbal and written 

Education & Qualifications 

BS/BA or advanced degree in business or marketing
