Join us as a Senior Risk Analyst:
This role will form part of the Fraud & Credit Risk function and will play a critical role in evolving how risk is identified, analysed, and managed across the business.
Reporting into the Customer Quality & Value Chapter Lead, the role holder will be responsible for driving data-led risk decisioning through advanced analytics, statistical insight, and strategic risk analysis. The successful candidate will support the evolution of fraud and credit risk capabilities in response to increasingly sophisticated telecoms threats, changing customer behaviours, and the growing importance of intelligent, data-driven controls.
The Risk Analytics Lead will work across multiple business functions to identify opportunities to enhance risk performance, improve decisioning, strengthen controls, and support strategic transformation initiatives. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, commercial awareness, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insight.
What else it involves
- Analyse large and complex datasets to identify fraud trends, credit risk patterns, operational vulnerabilities, and emerging threats.
- Develop analytical frameworks and risk insights to support onboarding, customer lifecycle management, and strategic decisioning.
- Apply statistical analysis and quantitative techniques to improve fraud and credit risk performance.
- Design and monitor KPIs relating to fraud loss, bad debt, approval rates, customer quality, and operational performance.
- Support the development and optimisation of risk strategies through data segmentation, trend analysis, forecasting, and predictive insight generation.
- Partner with Product, Commercial, Technology, Data, and Operational teams to ensure risk considerations are embedded within business initiatives.
- Support the integration and utilisation of internal and external risk intelligence sources to improve risk visibility and decisioning effectiveness.
- Contribute to the delivery of risk transformation initiatives, including onboarding enhancements, automation, and data-driven risk controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through enhanced analytics, automation, and smarter risk processes.
- Develop reporting frameworks and dashboards to support senior management decision making.
- Present analytical findings and strategic recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Monitor emerging telecoms fraud trends, customer behaviours, and industry developments to ensure risk strategies evolve appropriately.
- Support governance, audit, and control requirements relating to fraud and credit risk activities.
- Demonstrate a proactive and self-directed approach to solving complex business and risk problems.
The skills we’re looking for
- Strong quantitative background with experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of statistical modelling, probability, trend analysis, segmentation, forecasting, and data interpretation.
- Experience applying analytical and statistical techniques within a commercial or risk environment.
- Experience within Fraud Risk, Credit Risk, Financial Crime, Telecoms Risk, or similar analytical risk functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with the ability to interpret complex datasets and identify meaningful insights.
- Experience using analytical and data tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar technologies.
- Ability to translate complex analytical outputs into clear business recommendations and strategic actions.
- Experience supporting large-scale transformation, automation, or data-led business initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence decision-making across multiple business areas.
- Ability to balance commercial objectives, customer experience, and risk management requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong awareness of evolving fraud typologies, digital risk trends, and emerging customer threats.
Desirable
- Knowledge of fraud typologies (e.g. account takeover, subscription fraud, identity fraud).
- Experience working with or implementing risk/fraud technologies (e.g. decision engines, ID verification, device intelligence tools).
- Familiarity with API integrations and data pipelines.
- Experience with Google BigQuery.
- Experience with fraud orchestration platforms or rule engines.
Educational Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree preferably in (Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Economics,
- Engineering, Computer Science) or a related quantitative discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a data analytics, fraud risk, credit risk, or analytical risk-focused role
- Experience within telecoms, financial services, fintech, or other high-volume digital industries would be advantageous.
