Job Summary

This post is in Network 13 (Carrigaline / Kinsale / Bandon), working as part of an Interdisciplinary team providing supports to children and young adults, 0-18yrs and their families. This will include children and young adults with Intellectual, Physical, Sensory disability, Autistic children and young adults at risk of or query developmental delay; where their needs require the support of an Interdisciplinary Disability team. This team is under the national model of service provision “Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People” lead by the HSE. The successful candidate will be employed by the Corlann Services (formerly Brothers of Charity Services Ireland.) The Network 13 team Carrigaline / Kinsale / Bandon has bases in Carrigaline and Bandon, Co. Cork.

The Senior Social Worker will work in conjunction with other team members in co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the service user group and the objectives of the organisation and Network 13 CDNT. The Social Workers will be responsible for the provision of a high quality service and will carry out Social Work duties as required. She/he will be required to work as a key contact for particular cases as well as be part of IFSPs.

The Candidate:

  • Professional Qualifications, Experience etc.
  • Eligible applicants will be those on the closing date for the competition:
  • Must be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU. AND
  • Have 3 years full time relevant post qualification experience working as a Social Worker. AND
  • Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
  • Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
  • Have experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary/ Interdisciplinary team.
  • Have experience of receiving and processing social work related referrals and prioritising Social Work caseload.
  • Have Social Work experience with relevant/related client group from (birth – 18 years) and their families.
  • Preferable experience working in the area of disabilities and/or with children with complex needs
  • Annual registration
  • On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU. AND
  • Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
  • 3. Health

    Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the

    office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

    4. Character

    Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

    Salary Scale: Snr Social Work - €72,407- €83,520 per annum and pro-rata for part-time post (1/6/26)

    * Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of starting date. Failure to do so will mean that any incremental credit due now will only be paid from date of submission of documents.
