Senior Social Worker

We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Senior Social Worker to join our team in Enable Ireland Wicklow Children’s Services; CDNT7 – South Wicklow, Arklow

Contract Type: Specified Purpose

Contract Hours: 17.5 hours per week

Salary Scale: €59,501 – €70,006 pro rata per annum

Overview of the Post:

The post holder will work as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing services to children and families who are accessing the Children’s Disability Network Team. These supports will include the provision of quality and effective assessment and intervention social work supports to meet the desired outcomes for children with ongoing complex needs and their families. The duties of this post will combine direct intervention with children and families with the provision of support and supervision to basic grade social worker(s) on the team. The post holder will be required to work across a variety of settings including the clinic, schools, preschools and special schools, children’s homes and community settings.

The successful candidate will have

Essential Criteria:

· Must be registered in the Social Workers Register by the Social Work Registration Board at CORU.

· National Qualification in Social Work or Certification of Qualification in Social Work, or equivalent qualification accredited by the National Social Work Qualifications Board.

· 3 years’ relevant post qualification experience.

· Maintain live annual registration on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Work Registration Board at CORU.

· Must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability, professional and managerial ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

· In-depth understanding of Children’s First legislation.

Desirable Criteria:

· 1 years’ experience as a Senior Grade, or in other similar type role.

· Experience working with children with disabilities and their families.

· Experience in providing training to parents and other professionals.

· Experience in supervision of staff.

· Experience in managing resources.
