The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit the following staff member:

Job Role: Skills Trainer – SkillSET
Location: Southern HSCT Area, Base: Ballybot House, Newry BT35 8BG (with agile working options)
Salary: Starting at £29,540 per annum (pro-rata)
Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Contract: Initially till 31.03.26


The Service

SkillSET supports individuals with a disability or other health conditions aged over 16 years, to identify and secure employment. We offer specialised pre-employment training and mentoring that leads to enhanced skills and sustainable employment.

Purpose of the Job

Skills Trainer will be responsible for the delivery of the SKillSET service directly to participants leading to sustainable employability & inclusion outcomes and achievement of qualifications

Essential Criteria

1. 
Professional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching (PGCE) , Certificate in Teaching (CIT) or equivalent RQF level 6 qualification in Education or Teaching
AND
  • Minimum of 1 year’s paid experience in the direct provision training.
2. Proficiency in IT skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. 
3. Ability to work independently with good organisational, communication & interpersonal skills
