Permanent Full-Time (78 hours per fortnight)

Adult Residential Services Cork City and county

We are seeking energetic, passionate candidate to join our residential teams based in our Services in Cork City.

The Purpose

The model of Service will be based on the Good Lives and Stay Well planning systems. The successful candidate ideally should have a good working knowledge of Clinical Risk Management and in the identified planning systems or in the management of Services for persons with complex/behavioural support needs.

The person/s appointed shall ensure that the vision is delivered through our core values of Person Centred Service. Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, national Legislation including Health Act 2007 and H.I.Q.A. regulations. Working hours will be variable over seven day roster including, day shifts, weekends and unsocial hours. Working towards community integration and ensuring a quality service is provided to all who use the service are essential parts of the role.

Reporting to the Services Manager / Person in Charge (PIC)

  • Professional Qualifications and Experience etc.
  • Candidates must
  • Possess a level 8 or higher health related 3rdlevel qualification on the Quality & Qualifications (QQI) framework in nursing / social care or health science. OR
  • Possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Social Care Worker Registration Board, CORU
  • If a qualified nurse maintain live annual registration in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) - An Bórd Altranais OR
  • If Social Care qualified must have up to date CORU registration or Confirmation of application for registration submitted to CORU and must maintain such registration for the duration of employment in this role.
  • Be computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge and proficiency of using information systems
  • A full driving licence which qualifies you to drive on Irish roads is essential
  • Experience
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience of working in residential services supporting adults with intellectual disability, autism and challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Experience of leading and managing a team is desirable
  • Post graduate training in Positive Behaviour Support is desirable
  • Applicants must be flexible to meet the requirements of the service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of flexibility is essential
  • Experience of using alternative communication methods is essential
  • Previous experience and understanding of how to support individuals with very specific and clinical support requirements and a clear understanding of the importance of working in line with written protocols and guidelines is desirable
  • Experience of using a person centred planning system is essential.
  • Knowledge of the good lives model of service and armadillo risk review process is desirable
  • 2. Health

    Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

    3. Character

    Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

    Salary Scale: Social Care Leader: €56,915 - €66,465 1/2/26 Consolidated Scales
