St. Michael's House is a community based organisation committed to providing a quality person centred service and high standard of living to people with an intellectual disability in the greater Dublin area.

A vacancy now exists for a Social Care Leader- Person in Charge – Specific Purpose contract, in a community residential service for adults with intellectual disabilities and autism based in Churchtown, D14. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a skilled and responsive staff team to deliver a high-quality service for Six people. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team and families. The key task is to provide person centred supports to individuals who have changing age related needs.

Essential Criteria for Applicants

• Have at least 5 years’ experience working in the area of intellectual disability within a community setting.
• Have experience and understanding of HIQA regulations.
• Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management role in the area of health or social care.
• Experience of managing a staff team and developing the team to ensure that they have the necessary skills and motivation to deliver to the highest of standards.
• Have a strong commitment to the empowerment of the service users and their families.
• Excellent facilitation, leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent report writing.
• Highly organised, motivated, flexible and ability to problem solve.
• Eligible to work in Ireland

Essential Qualifications Required:

• QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) - Open Training College
• Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland.

And

• A relevant health or social care management qualification

Salary Scale: Successful candidates will be paid in line with the February 2026 HSE revised consolidated Social Care Leader pay scale (point 1; €56,915 – point 7; €66,465 LSI per annum based on working a 39 hour week). Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above.
