These positions will provide exciting opportunities for the successful candidate to develop their career by providing personal support services for adults with an intellectual disability.

The successful candidates will assist in supporting individuals to develop and maintain their connections to other people and strengthen links to the local community.

Key duties associated with the role:
· Support each person to effectively communicate and to ensure they make informed decisions, exercise choice, control and autonomy in their life.
· Contribute to and monitor outcomes for the person as identified in the personal planning processes.
· Identify supports and work in partnership with the individual, their family and other supports as outlined within individual plans
· Have an understanding of creating appropriate Autism specific environments and be aware of and able to work with Positive Behavioural Support Plans.
Essential Criteria for Applicants:
· Previous experience of supporting individuals presenting with an Intellectual disability
· Experience of promoting community inclusion and active participation.
· Experience providing individuals with positive behaviour supports
· Experience working with families, clinicians and other networks of support
· Possess excellent communication skills
· Have experience of implementing positive behaviour support programmes.
· Have experience of a key working role, focusing on promoting independence and community integration.
· Experience working directly with people presenting with ASD preferred.
· Full clean drivers licence and a driver is essential.
Essential Qualification required for Social Care Workers
Hold one of the HSE approved qualification- see below if you don’t hold 1 of the below you will not be shortlisted. The successful Social Care Worker candidates must have the following Qualifications required
· QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) - Open Training College;
· Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, TUD or National University of Ireland;
· A qualification received outside the State recognised by NARIC as equivalent to the Irish Level 7 award.
· Be CORU registered or have proof of application.
Salary Scale – Social Care Workers: Successful candidates will be paid in line with June 26 HSE revised consolidated Social Care Worker pay scale point 1; €41,260 – point 12; €57,789 per annum based on workinga 35 hour week. Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above.
The successful Direct Support Worker candidate must have the following FULL AWARD in one or more of the Qualifications required:
- Intellectual Disability Practice (5M1761)
- Community Health Services (5M4468)
- Health Service Skills (5M3782)
- Healthcare Support (5M4339)
- Community Care (5M2786)
- Nursing Studies (5M4349)
Salary Scale – Autism Support Workers: Successful candidates will be paid in line with June 26 HSE revised consolidated Care Assistant (Disability) pay scale; point 1 – €34,881 – point 13 €48,434 pro rata to a 35 hour working week. Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above.
