Social Enterprise Educative Trainer
About ChildVision:
Located in Drumcondra, Dublin, ChildVision is Ireland’s only dedicated centre for children with sight loss. We are a national resource for families and professionals needing expert help in the area of visual impairment or visual impairment and/or additional disabilities.
Role Summary:
This unique position is open to individuals with a background in educative training and social media management. The successful candidate will play a key developmental role in various aspects of CanDo Enterprises, a social enterprise that provides meaningful training and employment to people who have lived experience of vision impairment and other disabilities.
Essential relevant areas include the delivery of professional development training to our team, product marketing and customer services. This position requires adaptability, creativity, and a commitment to our mission. People with lived experience of disability are particularly encouraged to apply for this role.
Reporting to:
Social Enterprise Manager
Key Working Relationships:
The successful candidate will be delivering continuous professional training to our social enterprise staff, who have a broad range of educational experience and needs.
Duties:
Planning and Organising of Activities and Resources
Plans and organises training sessions and necessary resources efficiently and effectively, factoring in visual impairment and intellectual requirements.
Understands the importance of time management and how this translates to organising their assigned workload.
Deals with unexpected scenarios with persistence and flexibility to ensure the achievement of goals.
Advocacy and Rights
Is familiar with the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act 2015 and demonstrates good practice in supporting staff to make education and training decisions for themselves.
Supports the development of decision-making and advocacy skills in all team members.
Marketing and Social Media
Participate in the development and refinement of our professional image, ensuring that our marketing methods are accessible and adaptable for individuals with disabilities.
Maintain a high standard of professionalism and quality in all enterprise related publications.
Customer Services
Engage with customers through various channels, including in-person events, online marketplaces, and social media, to promote our products and mission.
Provide excellent customer service by answering inquiries, assisting with orders, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Accessibility and Adaptation:
Advocate for and contribute to the creation of accessible workspaces, tools, and materials.
Share insights and ideas to improve the overall inclusivity of our enterprise.
Terms and Conditions
Please note this position is only open to Visually impaired candidates in accordance with funding allowcation
Salary:
€13.50 per hour
Annual Leave Entitlements:
Annual leave entitlement is 20 days pro rata per annum.
Sick Pay:
All periods of sickness exceeding 3 days must be medically certified.
Weekly medical certificates are required thereafter. The Company reserves the right to have you examined by its own Doctor.
Probation:
A probationary period of 6 months applies. The probationary period may be extended or terminated for any reason at ChildVision’s discretion.
Garda Clearance/Police Clearance:
These will be required for all prospective employees who will undertake relevant work or activities relating to children or vulnerable persons. This will include any state outside of Ireland where the candidate has resided for a period of 6 months or more.
