What you’ll achieve

As a Software Engineer in the PowerMax team, you will be responsible forhelping to deliver the latest generation PowerMax, the industry leading enterprise storage system. You will work with front end driver team onthe latest high speed networking busses and protocols.

You will:

• Contribute to theimplementation of PowerMaxFibreChannel and Ethernet datapaths

• Prepare written software/storage specifications, review design, functional, technical and/or user documentation, as needed

• Develop, test, review and integrate code for new or existing software of significant complexity

• Take charge of and resolve customer escalations, perform root cause analysis as required

Essential Requirements 

• Solid knowledge of C; embedded software/firmware; tools and utilities; interrupt handlers; user & kernel mode memory management, device drivers

• Software configuration management systems such as GIT, CVS, SVN, JIRA

• Able to code/debug more complex programs using either written or verbal design specifications 

• Able to understand Agile software lifecycle methods, especially SCRUM

• Able to learn new OS& protocols with training and on-the-job experience

• 2–5 years of related experience

Desirable Requirements 

• Understand Real Time programming

• LInux kernel mode development

• Understanding of networking protocols such asEthernet, TCP/IP,

• Understanding of Fibre Channel

• Experience developing Linux device driver and or kernel mode development, or low-level embedded MCUs
