Unstructured Data Storage group delivers two core solutions of the Dell AI Platform - PowerScale and ObjectScale, providing AI-ready storage for the world’s most data intensive challenges. We are looking for talented professionals to join our ObjectScale Platform Team and help shape the future of storage. What you’ll achieve
We’re a modern, scrum-based engineering org that ships with high velocity and quality, using the best tools, hardware and development practices. As a Software Engineer, you will work on innovative solutions using new and current technologies. You will design and implement capabilities, often spanning multiple components.
You will:
Contribute to the development and architecture of our industry-leading modern storage platforms and take part in the full software development life cycle, including development, test, continuous delivery, and maintenance.
Create detailed technical designs for new features and improvements. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all areas.
Work on discovery tasks and proof of concepts around modern networking solutions
Implement company standards and practices to ensure quality and security.

Essential Requirements
Solid programming skills with 3-5 years of related experience
Proficiency in C and/or Python; willingness to learn across the stack
Strong understanding of modern Linux, including the kernel, drivers, containers, early boot, and other low-level technologies
Analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
Self driven, detail oriented, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks from design to implementation
Desirable Requirements
Familiarity and hands-on experience with Storage systems
Knowledge about networking (ethernet, infiniband etc.)
Capacity to achieve proficiency in new tools, languages and frameworks with training and on-the-job experience
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to effectively collaborate in an Agile/ Scrum environment
