What you’ll achieve

In UDS we build enterprise-grade, massively scalable storage systems - clustered, high-performance, and resilient. Our portfolio includes a multi-petabyte S3 object store and a scale-out NAS platform. We’re a modern, scrum-based engineering org that ships with high velocity and quality, using the best tools, hardware and development practices. As a Principal Software Engineer you will work on innovative solutions using new and current technologies. You will work as part of a scrum team to design and implement capabilities, often spanning multiple components.

You will:

• Work on all aspects of software development life cycle: planning, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

• Collaborate with product owners, architects and other engineers to define and implement technical solutions

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the stack

• Coach and mentor more junior team members

Essential Requirements

• Exceptional programming skills with 8+ years of related experience, preferably in C, C++, Java or Python

• Experience in filesystem/ distributed systems

• Excellent analytical debugging & problem solving skills

• Demonstrable use of observability, diagnostics and operational tooling

• Strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills to effectively lead a scrum team and collaborate effectively in a global Agile/Scrum environment

Desirable Requirements

• Experience in performance engineering/SRE

• Familiarity with systems/storage including protocol behaviour (NFS/SMB/S3), networking, kernel/filesystem queues, caching

• Ability to use ML/AI for anomaly detection, pattern matching, RAG over use case history, agent orchestration
