St Joseph's School for the Visually Impaired Drumcondra teaches students with a visual impairment, many of whom have additional needs, including learning disabilities.

To qualify for appointment candidates must be able to comply with the following:

• Be fully registered with the Teaching Council under Route 1 (Primary), Route 2 (Post Primary) or Route 3 (Further Education).
• An additional qualification of working in Special Education is advantageous.
• Experience and having a real interest and dedication to working with students with Special Educational Needs to help them achieve their full potential is extremely important and highly desirable.
• A flexible approach, with focus on tactile and 3D art, including all art mediums.
• Experience in using Art as a therapeutic process would be highly desirable.

Appointments will be subject to:

• Vetting requirements
• Occupational Health Screening.
• Evidence of current Teaching Council Registration
