An Cosán Community Special School provides for the needs of students with autism and complex needs with a professional recommendation for a special school, in addition to students with moderate general learning disability and complex needs, with a professional recommendation for a special school, from the beginning of Primary school up to eighteen years of age.

We are looking for teachers who are enthusiastic, energetic, flexible and responsive to the needs of the children of the school coupled with a willingness to learn and an interest and passion in educating our children with a diagnosis of autism and complex needs.

An Cosán Community Special School Dublin 7 is a new vibrant special school with expanding student numbers and opportunities for both personal and professional learning and growth. We welcome you to join our school community.

Successful candidates must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Knowledge and experience of PECS, Lámh and Positive Behaviour management strategies is an advantage.

To qualify for appointment candidates must be able to comply with the following:

  • Full registration with the Teaching Council under Route 1 (Primary) or Route 2 (Post Primary) is required.
  • Experience with children who have diagnosis of Autism / Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Moderate General Learning Disability and / or Special Education Needs is desirable.
  • A post-graduate qualification in Special Education is beneficial.
  • Appointments will be subject to:Vetting requirements
  • Occupational Health Screening.
  • Evidence of current Teaching Council Registration
