There is currently various permanent / specified purpose / part time / whole-time vacancies available in the HSE South West across Cork and Kerry. Individual sites / location will be indicated at expression of interest stage to panel members for each individual job.

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Speech and Language Therapist, Senior from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration in Primary Care and Older Persons may be filled. This will include specific skills posts where clinical competencies may need to be demonstrated.

Purpose of the post:

  • · To provide a quality Speech & Language Therapy Service to clients in the Integrated Health Area of HSE South West
  • · To be responsible for the provision of a high quality Speech and Language Therapy service in accordance with standards of professional practice.
  • · To work in conjunction with other team members in co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the population it serves in line with the objectives of the organisation.
  • · To work with the Speech and Language Therapist Manager in ensuring the coordination, development and delivery of a quality, client centred Speech & Language Therapist service across and between networks in the geographical area.
  • The post holder will work as part of the Community Healthcare Network Team, providing a multi-disciplinary service to clients in the Network Area.

Any specific requirements for individual posts will be indicated at Expression of Interest stage. This may include specialisms where clinical competencies in the area of feeding, eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties may be needed. Speech & Language Therapists who work with people with feeding, eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties must hold a dysphagia qualification or equivalent as outlined in “Standards of Practice for Speech & Language Therapists on the Management of Feeding, Eating, Drinking and Swallowing Disorders (Dysphagia)” Irish Association of Speech & Language Therapists (IASLT) 2007.
