The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland – Southern Region is a major voluntary organisation, which provides age related residential, educational and day services for people with intellectual disabilities, autism and communication disorders throughout the Cork and Kerry area.

Children’s Disability Network Services South Kerry Team (Network 3)

Job Summary
This post is in South Kerry (Network 3), working as part of an Interdisciplinary team providing supports to children and young adults, 0-18yrs and their families. This will include children with Intellectual, Physical, Sensory disability, children on the Autistic Spectrum and children at risk of or query developmental delay; where their needs require the support of an Interdisciplinary Disability team. This team is under the national model of service provision “Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People” lead by the HSE.
The successful candidate will be employed by the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland. The South Kerry team is based in Killarney with an outreach services to Tralee, Killorglin and Caherciveen to provide input to families from the South Kerry area. Assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions are provided by an Interdisciplinary team. The CDNT aims to maximise the child/ young adult’s full potential and works within the context of the family and community, empowering and supporting parents/care givers and family members.
2. Driving Licence
Must have a full driving license and means of transport which qualifies you to drive on Irish roads.
3. Age
The Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act, 2018* set 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public
servants.
* Public Servants not affected by this legislation:
Public servants recruited between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012 (new entrants) have no compulsory retirement age.
Public servants recruited since 1 January 2013 are members of the Single Pension Scheme and have a compulsory retirement age
of 70
4. Health
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the
office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service
5. Character
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character
Salary Scale: €61,976 - €106,101 including 2 LSI's per annum (PSPP 1/8/25).
* Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of starting date. Failure to do so will mean that any incremental credit due now will only be paid from date of submission of documents.
