Job description: Chanel LC Day Service
St. Michael's House is a community-based organisation committed to providing a quality person centred service and high standard of day service to people with an intellectual disability in the greater Dublin area. The successful candidate be part of a highly skilled creative and motivated multidisciplinary team who provides support up to 14 men and women in day service setting and in line with New Directions.
The team in Chanel LC day service provides diverse models of care to individuals who function within the mild to moderate ranges of intellectual disability and some who have a dual diagnosis in mental health. There is a strong link between the Baldoyle team and the multidisciplinary team. Supports are provided on a 1:1 ratios and larger group ratios . The goal for all is to engage in meaningful activities and be an active participant in the community.
The role of the Staff Nurse involves delivering holistic, person-centred nursing care and support to individuals with intellectual, physical, &/or sensory disabilities. The goal is to promote independence and enhance quality of life across all aspects of daily living during their stay in respite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-standard nursing care in line with NMBI Code of Conduct, relevant legislation and within organisational policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
- To work as part of an interdisciplinary team to support individuals with their health, wellbeing, and social care.
- To improve experience and outcomes for individuals with an intellectual disability.
- Advocate for the rights, will and preferences of individuals, promoting dignity and inclusion.
Essential Requirements:
- Hold a RNID qualification, and be presently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). Other nursing disciplines can apply if they have at least 1 year experience in working with people with an intellectual disability
- Newly Qualified RNID’s are encouraged to apply
- Experience in supporting people with intellectual disabilities and those with positive behaviour supports
- Have a working knowledge of Safe Guarding Policy
- Knowledge of HIQA regulations for residential services
- Strong commitment to person-centred human rights-based support and team-based working

Salary scale : €37,288 - €55,723 LSI
- Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above
