Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide high quality child and family centred care across all areas of the Emergency Department:
· To work as part of a nursing team within a larger MDT to provide nursing care for children and their families within the ED;
· The post holder will be exposed to all areas of the ED, developing core skills with a structured career progression pathway within Paediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM);
· To provide clinical leadership to a designated nursing team and ensure the provision of high-quality care;
· To act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner;
· To ensure the provision of a high standard of care to families is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of the hospital;
· To assist in the safe, effective and efficient management of the department within allocated resources;
· To promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence-based practice.;
To undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the CNMs. In carrying out these duties ensuring confidentiality surrounding the Child’s care & treatment is maintained at all times
Essential Requirements:
✨ Registered Children’s Nurse with experience working in the Emergency Department or/Registered General Nurse with acute paediatric Emergency Department experience.
✨ Proven record of continuous professional development.
✨ Excellent communication skills.
