OVERVIEW

  • Campaign Reference – RQ1127
  • Job Title & Grade – Occupational Therapist (Staff Grade)
  • Tenure – The current vacancy available is a temporary specified purpose post on a full-time basis.
  • Panel – A panel may be created from which permanent and specified purpose contract vacancies of full or part time duration may be filled.
  • Hours of Work – 35Hours – the allocation of these hours will be at the discretion of the Department Head and in accordance with needs of service
  • Department – Occupational Therapy
  • Location of Post - Peamount Healthcare, Newcastle, Co. Dublin
  • Working Model - Fully Onsite
  • Remuneration - *Current salary scale with effect from 1stJune 2026: €45,514 (point 1) to €65,068 (point 14 <LSI>).
  • Annual Leave - As per Health Service Executive (HSE)
  • Closing Date – June 26th 2026
  • Proposed Interview Date - To be confirmed - At least 1 weeks’ notice will be provided. Shortlisted candidates are expected to make themselves available.
  • Take Up Appointment - Successful applicant(s) must be available to take up the role within a reasonable timeframe
  • Reporting Relationship – Occupational Therapy Manager

PURPOSE OF THE POST

The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision of a high quality person-centred Occupational Therapy service to a designated clinical area(s) and will carry out clinical, educational and administrative duties as assigned by the Senior Occupational Therapist/Occupational Therapy Manager.

POINT ON SALARY SCALE

New appointees coming from the private sector will be placed on the minimum point of the scale (*exceptions may apply for the below grades, provided proof of recognised service is submitted by VOS)

*Clinical and Therapy Grades and Staff Nurses*: Incremental credit may be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011) in the Civil Service, local authorities, public service, health service and other public service bodies and statutory agencies.
