Salary: The 13 point salary scale for the post as of 01/08/2025:

New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011). Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of previous experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies.
Horizons is seeking to recruit highly motivated and enthusiastic Staff Grade Psychologist’s in Adults Services. The successful applicant will work within an interdisciplinary team.
Requirements of the post:
- An honours degree in psychology together with an appropriate post-graduate professional qualification in psychology.
- Qualifications that comply with the Department of Health & Children and PSI requirements for appointment as a Staff Psychologist.
- Candidates who have trained outside of the Republic of Ireland must have their qualifications validated to work in Ireland by the Department of Health and Children at time of application.
- Full driver’s licence and access to their own vehicle.
- Clinical Psychology graduates are welcome to apply
Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to evidence-based interventions and the scientist-practitioner model. Candidates must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills so as to effectively develop and implement interventions and assessments as well as share expertise in a timely manner. It is critical that the selected candidate work effectively within a dynamic team environment using a person and family centred philosophy with an emphasis on human rights and Social Role Valorisation.
Experience working as a psychologist with adults with disabilities is desirable however applications from recent, appropriately qualified professional graduates, are also welcome.
