Stakeholder Manager
Background
The NTPF is a corporate body with functions and responsibilities as set out under Statutory Instrument 179 - National Treatment Purchase Fund (Establishment) Order, 2004 and the Nursing Homes Support Scheme Act (2009).
Its key functions are:
- Arranging for the provision of hospital treatment to classes of persons determined by the Minister.
- Collecting, collating and validating information on persons waiting for public hospital treatment.
- Agreeing pricing arrangements with private & voluntary nursing homes under the Nursing Homes Support Scheme.
- Furnishing advice to the Minister for Health on related issues.
- Performing any other function assigned by the Minister for Health, since July 2012 this includes responsibility for the publication of outpatient waiting lists.
In carrying out its functions, the NTPF works closely with the Department of Health, the HSE, acute public hospitals and private nursing homes across the health system.
The Department
The Corporate Services Team provides support to the organisation by ensuring that corporate operations, structures, processes and systems are in place to support the work of the organisation. Subunits included here are HR, Governance, Procurement and Facilities.
The Role
The Stakeholder Manager will support the Director of Corporates Services in effectively managing the NTPF Board and its Committees. In addition, this role will have responsibility for implementing the NTPF Stakeholder Engagement / Communications Strategy, managing and updating website content, developing and publishing corporate documents such as the Strategic Plan, Annual Report and Protocols.
Due to the nature of this role which includes engagement with the Board and the Communications function the successful candidate will also work closely with the Chief Executive.
The key responsibilities are as follows:
Board Relations
- Develop and administer internal and external communications pertaining to the Board, its Committees, and its meetings and activities.
- Supporting the Board, its Committees, and the Secretaries including:
- Arranging meetings and circulating appropriate documentation.
- Taking minutes and coordinating the implementation of actions from meetings.
- Coordinating the development of corporate strategies (Strategic Plan & Communication Plan).
- Support Chair and Board when attending Oireachtas, Ministerial and Department meetings.
Communications
- Implement the NTPF Communication Strategy through the website, social media, corporate documents and press releases and other stakeholder engagement / communications activities as required. The Stakeholder Manager role will co-ordinate this activity, to develop a common language for use across the various media and to be the centre point for delivering that Stakeholder Engagement / Communications strategy.
- Developing and publishing corporate documents such as the Strategic Plan, Annual Report, Protocols, website content, social media, press releases.
- Engage and promote the NTPF LinkedIn page and research other appropriate social media platforms.
- Internal communications (newsletter, internal events and updates).
- Cover for Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by the Director of Corporate Services and/or Chief Executive.
