NIFRS invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to apply for the post of Station Commander A (Control) based in our Regional Control Centre (RCC) and Operational Communications Department. Consideration will be given to the ongoing organisational reviews prior to filling vacancies and a reserve list will be created for 12 months should any additional vacancies arise.
Station Commanders (Control) perform a vital role within NIFRS, supporting Senior Management to deliver against a demanding change agenda and in a challenging financial climate. Successful candidates will be experienced professionals within the Fire and Rescue Control sector. They will be confident, innovative and resilient leaders and will role model the values of the Fire and Rescue Service. They will have supported and managed change and improvement to service delivery and ensured effective management of teams and resources.
NIFRS may appoint secondments from this recruitment and selection process should these arise during the time the reserve list is live. It should be noted that in order to be appointed to a seconded post the candidates’ substantive role cannot be more than one role below.
All candidates must possess a Station Commander (Control) Incident Command assessment prior to appointment.
