Your Role:
This is a challenging and fulfilling role where, as a Strategic Planning Senior Manager within a Group Strategy & Performance Function, you have the opportunity to work in a high-performance environment, delivering key strategic initiatives at the forefront of the executive agenda and developing the bank¿s strategic direction through the application of world-class managing-for-value tools and techniques. The role will report to the Head of Strategy & Performance within the Group Strategy & Performance Function.
This role offers opportunities to:
- Lead the annual Strategic Planning Process (`SPP¿) & oversee development of the consolidated 3 year Integrated Strategic Plan, including organisation of ExCo and Board Strategy Away Days
- Lead development of internal communications in respect of Integrated Strategic Plan
- Manage and maintain the SPP Playbook, ensuring embedding of 1LOD risk controls and CEO IAF/SEAR compliance
- Lead Internal, Market and Competitor strategic analysis, including identification and formal assessment (subject to prioritisation) of strategic opportunities/challenges through Future Strategy Project Portfolio initiatives
- Lead CEO led Strategy projects/initiatives on an as required basis
- Support activities led by Strategy Performance Senior Manager as required
Your Team:
Working for the CEO and Executive Team, the Strategy & Planning Function develops and tracks the execution of our Strategy and coordinates the annual Strategic Planning Process resulting in a stress tested Integrated Strategic Plan and Recovery & Resolution Plans. In addition, it leads and coordinates the research and development of inorganic and organic growth opportunities and supports execution.
Your Responsibilities:
Functional Strategy & Delivery
- Lead the annual multi-year Strategic Planning Process & development of consolidated 3 year Integrated Strategic Plan to the standards set out in the SPP Playbook
- Lead and organise Exco and Board Strategy Away Days, ensuring the appropriate balance of Board input to strategic debates in addition to oversight and challenge to our Strategy. Lead cross-functional SPP meetings, facilitate workshops and proactively engage with teams across the organisation to ensure the delivery of the key outputs that are required as part of the SPP.
Risk Management & Control
- Engage with Colleagues in First Line and Second Line Risk to develop a consolidated view of the risk environment and ensure that compliance, conduct, regulatory and audit obligations are addressed as part of the SPP.
- Review and maintain effective governance for area of responsibility and adhere to all regulatory requirements, policies, processes, and procedures.
Lead an inspiring Culture
- Promote a culture of strategic decision making and a culture of continuous execution of the bank¿s strategic direction throughout the Group Strategy & Performance and across the wider bank
- Foster a high-performing team by providing clear direction and purpose. Mentor, coach, and develop team members through well-defined job descriptions and regular performance reviews.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and manage key relationships with internal stakeholders including leadership team.
- Collaborate with the Change Team and business leadership to refine and prioritise the strategic initiatives and enablers identified in the Integrated Strategic Plan
Requirements:
Essential
¿ 5+ years post third level qualification professional business experience
¿ Strong project management skills ¿ ability to manage other and deliver in a fast paced, changing environment.
¿ Excellent research and analytical abilities, with good working knowledge of analytical tools and techniques
¿ Excellent communication, organisation and conflict resolution skills.
¿ Ability to work on own initiative and manage a wide range of activities in parallel.
¿ Genuine passion for delivering high quality Strategy work and ambition to both learn and grow in the role, and to develop others
¿ Good understanding of and experience in applying strategic concepts and frameworks
¿ A strategic mind-set with proven ability to influence and manage challenging stakeholders at Executive, Board, and senior level.
