LEVEL 7 

Specified Purpose Contract, Part Time (0.6 FTE – 21 hours per week)

*The specific purpose of this contract is the cover a maternity leave (approximate end date January 2027)

Fáilte Ireland invites applications for the position of Support, Investment Analysis Team within the Strategy Management & Investment Analysis Division. The role will report to the Officer, Investment Analysis within the Strategy Management & Investment Analysis Division.

Job Purpose

  • To support the Investment Analysis unit within the Strategy Management & Investment Analysis division in pursuit of its strategic objectives in line with Fáilte Ireland’s corporate strategy.
  • To support the design, execution and delivery of the Investment Performance Monitoring Programme which seeks to monitor the performance of tourism investments across a range of areas e.g. Attractions, Festivals, Activities and Tourism Digitalisation.

Job Description

Primary Objectives/Key Responsibilities:

Strategic: 

Support the delivery of the strategy of the Strategy Management & Investment Analysis Division:

  • Support tasks related to the Investment Performance Monitoring Programme (IPMP) such as proofreading and editing reports and researching investment performances.
  • Support the Procurement, Governance, Budgeting and Administration of the Division.

Operational: 

Objective 1: Roll out of Investment Performance Monitoring Programme (IPMP)

  • Work as part of a team to conduct research, analysis and co-authoring of investment analysis reports to provide meaningful feedback on the viability of proposed investment projects within Fáilte Ireland’s business case model.
  • Liaison with internal stakeholders to support Divisional objectives around management of Key Accounting Data and preparation of master investment database.

Objective 2: Drive governance and administration of the Division

  • Develop and manage ad-hoc tenders, procurement and Framework requirements.
  • Support management of divisional budget, using the budget to forecast expenditures and prevent overspending, and administration of P-card spending.
  • Management of purchase orders (POs) system, including creation and matching of POs to supplier’s invoice and goods received, and payments of invoices.
  • Establish appropriate file management systems in advance to comply with auditing standards and requirements.
  • Fulfil all additional duties as required, and actively contribute as a member of the Strategy Management & Investment Analysis team by assisting with various projects from time to time.

The flexibility to travel domestically, and on occasion internationally is an element of this role.

Person Specification 

Essential Criteria 

In order to be eligible to apply for this role you must have / demonstrate in your application form the following 

  • Minimum of 2 years administrative experience in a relevant role
  • Demonstrate through your application excellent IT skills - Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in using CRM databases
  • Experience in Financial systems (budget reporting & management, Invoices & Purchase orders, P-Cards etc)
  • Proven experience in successfully working with key stakeholders
  • Experience in project-based activities (as part of a project team)

Qualifications/Mandatory Training 

  • A professional qualification (minimum Level 6 under the QQI Framework) in a related discipline is essential

Desirable Criteria 

  • Experience in data analysis and data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI) would be an advantage.
  • Experience in the tourism sector
