COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER
Job details:
• Hours: 15 hrs per week (Flexibility to work evenings and weekends will be required)
• Salary: £13.06 per hour (£10,186.80 per annum)
• Contract: Fixed Term (Until 30th April 2027)
Job Background:
Bryson Energy in partnership with Ballyduff Community Redevelopment Group has been successful in obtaining funding from National Lottery Community Fund We will make the greatest difference to Ballyduff's greatest need by simultaneously developing local community leaders, individuals and families to maximise their potential. We will provide residents with much needed interventions and activities to improve education, employment, health, well-being and community cohesion.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• The Community Support Worker will build, strengthen and sustain relationships within the community to support with identified issues e.g. school readiness, afterschool support, assist in delivering and facilitating courses/ programmes (as part of a team).
• To offer immediate support and assess the needs of identified and/ or new service users.
• To be involved in the planning and implementing of community action plans.
• To work alongside the Community Team to facilitate creches, parent & toddler programmes, community led programmes etc.
• To meet identified targets for participating in the delivery of community led events, home visit sessions and group sessions
Essential Criteria:
• NVQ Level 3 Childcare & Education equivalent qualification e.g. Classroom Assistant or youth work
• Experience of working within communities
• 5 GCSEs including English language
• Proficient in I.T – Microsoft packages
• Working as part of a team
• Ability to communicate and relate to individuals, families, and communities
