SUPPORT WORKER

The focus of this role will be to support an individual to realise their vision to leading a good life through Person Centred approaches in line with personal interests, skills, will and preference.

Permanent Part Time 16 hours Per Fortnight

We are recruiting a Support Worker to work as part of a dynamic team supporting in our Person Centred Wing Services. The successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to support individuals with independent living skills, community inclusion and the promotion of their personal health and wellbeing. We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Support Worker to support, encourage and motivate individuals to lead a fulfilling life.

Essential requirements/qualities of applicant are:

• FETAC/ QQI Level 5 (Major Award) in Healthcare or equivalent (e.g. Health Service Skills, Healthcare Support).

• Knowledge of New Directions.

• Motivation and willingness to try new things.

• Initiative and creativity.

• Similar interests to the Individual.

• Good connections with own community.

• Ability to use own initiative and plan effectively.

• Experience/knowledge of supporting persons with intellectual disability.

• Full current drivers licence.

• Excellent organisational, logistical and I.T skills an advantage.

• Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role.
