SUPPORT WORKER

Permanent (VARIOUS CONTRACT HOURS AVAILABLE)

We are looking for dedicated Support Workers to provide person-centred support to individuals, assisting them in achiveing their goals and enjoying interests such as swimming, bowling, trains and love of all animals.

This opportunity may be of interest to those who have experience of working with adults with autism, intellectual disability and behaviours of concern. We are looking to recruit staff members who are enthusiastic,outgoing and can work off their own initiative.

• Flexibility of work hours to suit the needs of the individual being supported which may require days/ evenings/weekends/sleepovers
• Full training will be provided.

Essential requirements/qualities of applicant are:

• Experience/knowledge of supporting persons that display behaviours that challenge is critical to this role.
• Ability to respond calmly to stressful situations should they arise.
• Full Manual drivers licence
• Motivation and positive attitude.
• Initiative and creativity.

Desirable requirements/qualities of applicant are:

• FETAC/ QQI Level 5 (Major Award) in Healthcare or equivalent (e.g. Health Service Skills, Healthcare Support)
• Knowledge/experience of Social Role Valorisation and Supported Self Directed Living.
• Interests in swimming, nature and love of animals.
