Tax Manager

We are seeking an ambitious Group Tax Manager to join our tax team. You will become a key member of the close knit tax team led by the Group Head of Tax and based in the Group’s head office in Ardee, Co. Louth. The role will involve working closely with the Head of Tax, Head of Finance and various colleagues throughout the business.
The Role:
- Manage the tax compliance process including the preparation of tax returns and supporting calculations in an efficient manner
- Preparation of current and deferred tax provisions and related disclosures for inclusion in financial statements
- Responding to and managing tax audits
- Ensuring timely preparation of transfer pricing documentation, including collaborating with colleagues and external advisors
- Assisting with the completion of acquisitions and disposals
- Review and advise on business transactions from a tax perspective
- Liaising with external advisors to obtain and implement advice
- Evaluate and advise management on the tax consequences of domestic and international legislative changes
- Assist with the timely completion of R&D credit claims and related reports
- Provide technical support on withholding tax, VAT and payroll matters
Key Skills & Experience
- Chartered Tax Advisor and/or Qualified accountant
- Experience in a large corporate tax environment, Big 4, or similar preferable
- Well organised with excellent attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills and ability to research complex issues
- Self-motivated – able to work both individually and as a member of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to simplify and communicate technical tax issues
- Ability to build effective working relationships with all levels of the business
- Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines, including flexibility of schedule as projects dictate
- Proven track record of successful project management
- Works with integrity and can be trusted to work on projects of a confidential nature
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to travel as required to support the role.
