Team Leader

Applications are invited for the position of Team Leader in Better Deal Navan on a permanent full-time basis.
Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will provide support to the Cash & Carry Management Team to ensure the Value Centre operates in a professional, compliant and profitable manner.
Key responsibilities include
- Providing support in the absence of the Cash & Carry Manager/Assistant Manager, and to carry out any duties as required (including key holding responsibilities).
- Communicate effectively with customers & staff ensuring queries are resolved efficiently & effectively.
- The supervision, mentoring and training of new & existing staff.
- Assisting and growing customer sales.
- Attention to detail in all aspects – ensuring accurate, professional and speedy processing of customers’ orders.
- Ensuring compliance with the Wholesale Standards Programme
- Working in conjunction with Management in relation to effective replenishment and stock control in line with company procedures, whilst also ensuring stock availability to meet customer needs
- Contributing to the effective management and reduction of wastage within the branch
- Working in conjunction with Cash & Carry Management to ensure the branch is prepared for Quarter End activities
- Ensuring security of Cash & Carry is maintained, protecting employees and stock
- Ensuring the effective supervision of employees in the Value Centre, as directed
- Contribute to the operation of the branch in a customer focused/friendly manner
- Minimising expenditure and, where appropriate, assist with the management of overheads
- To undertake any other activities as required in line with operational demands.
The successful candidate will
- Have experience of the licensed and/or grocery, catering trade
- Be a highly motivated self-starter
- Have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with customers and suppliers in a professional manner
- Previous experience in supervisory/management position
- Experience in warehouse management stock control
- Have the ability to contribute to the management of day-to-day floor operation of the Cash & Carry, including staff, stock control, deliveries & merchandising
- Be flexible with start / finish times and ensure operational demands are facilitated
- Have some understanding of HACCP
