Permanent Contract – 39 hours

Location: Abbey Lodge Service, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim

About the Role

The Team Leader/Staff Nurse will operate in a team lead capacity to support the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 in the delivery of a quality, client-focused respite service. They will have a role in the management, leadership and planning of the service, supporting clients with intellectual disabilities in a person-centred residential service and implementing and ensuring HIQA regulations and Rehab Group standards, frameworks, policies and procedures, while overseeing the delivery of a quality, customer-focused service.

The Staff Nurse will be responsible for the management, care and support of service users to ensure that the optimum standard of care is provided within the service. They will provide clinical and professional management, leadership and development to the care work team.

What We're Looking For
  • Full registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland.
  • RNID qualification.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Experience managing and supervising both individuals and teams.
  • Experience designing and developing staff rotas, including day, evening, sleep-in and waking night shifts.
Your Responsibilities
  • Implement a recognised model of nursing and lead the holistic approach to nursing care within a defined service, including coordinating the development of care plans that best meet the needs of individuals and reflect their wishes and choices, ensuring the organisation's care values are reflected at all times.
  • Coach and supervise the staff team in the delivery of the respite service in accordance with Rehab Group policy and quality standards requirements.
  • Ensure that the correct policies and procedures are followed in the administration and storage of all medications, in accordance with An Bord Altranais Codes of Practice and organisational policy.
  • Foster a philosophy of care that is facilitating and enabling, using an evidence-based approach in a safe environment while maintaining the dignity of service users and promoting person-centred care, normalisation and quality of life.
Salary

Starting at Point 1: €47,702.35 to Point 7: €54,938.81 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.
