DESCRIPTION AND VISION OF SERVICES
Corlann – West Region provide a community based, person centred service focusing on the needs and abilities of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The vision of the service is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community, in line with best practice both nationally and internationally. Working in partnership with each person supported by services, we aim to create opportunities for people supported by services to have ordinary life experiences and to be closely connected to family and friends. We are committed to supporting people to live a life of their choosing.
BEO Services is a community based, person centred service focussing on the needs and abilities of adults with intellectual disabilities. The vision of the service is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community. We continually review the way in which we support people in line with best practice internationally. Our focus going forward is to form a relationship/partnership with individuals and their family, supporting them to plan their own service.

The Role:
The Team Manager will provide leadership and direction for the team, actively coordinating the team to ensure the development of person-centred services as agreed on the Service Plan for each Service Area.
The Team Manager will support the staff teams and be responsible for the overall operational management of specified locations of the service.
The successful candidates will work closely with the Service Coordinator/ Area Manager to ensure that services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner within the agreed budget, and will be proactive members of the management team.
The successful candidate will be involved in developing existing services through supporting the local staff teams. The Team Manager will have Person in Charge (PIC) responsibility

Qualifications/Experience:
· A relevant 3rd level qualification in the Social Care or Health Sector e.g. Nursing qualification and current Live Register Certificate from NMBI orSocial Care qualification and be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board - CORU Or Be eligible under the Section 91 (existing practitioner) route for registration in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board -CORU (evidence of application status is necessary)
· An appropriate qualification in Health and Social Care Management (QQI Level 6) is a necessary requirement of the post. If the successful applicant does not hold such a qualification, a commitment to obtaining the qualification prior to taking up the post will be required.
· Candidates must have at least 5 years post qualification experience including a minimum of 3 years in a management role, gained in services for people with intellectual disabilities.
· Candidates must have a full clean manual driving licence.
· Experience of working with individuals with behaviours that challenge is essential.
· Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience of leading and supporting a team.
· Practical working knowledge and experience of HIQA regulations and Standards is essential.
· Experience in community networking, supporting individuals to partake in activities in their local community, goal setting and programme implementation is desirable.

· Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
· Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
· Proficiency in computer skills and online data management systems.
Working Hours:
For Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM2) grade, a 75 hours fortnight applies as per HR Circular 018/2022.
For Social Care Manager 2 (SCM2) grade, a 78 hours fortnight applies.
Contracted hours will be based on a 7-day duty roster and will depend on the qualification of the successful candidate. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will work primarily Monday to Friday with contracted hours of work liable to change between the hours of 8am – 8pm. Some weekend work may be required. Contracted hours of work are rostered to meet the requirements of the service, to include days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, as service need requires.
An On Call responsibility is an essential requirement of the post. This responsibility is shared on a rotational basis across the wider management team, with an allowance provided for undertaking this duty.
The successful candidate will be required to take responsibility as the senior person on duty in order to support colleagues across Beo Services, on a rostered basis, outside of usual business hours.
Corlann’s model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures, requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
Annual Leave:
Leave will be granted according to the agreed leave assigned to the grade of the successful candidates i.e. Social Care Manager 2 or Clinical Nurse Manager 2. Annual leave must be planned in advance with the Area Manager / Service Coordinator to ensure appropriate and adequate cover is provided for the service.
Remuneration:
Based on the salary scale attached to the qualification of the successful candidates i.e. Social Care Manager 2 or Clinical Nurse Manager 2.
Tenure:
This post is permanent full-time and pensionable.
Probation:
A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion.
