What is the Role?

The role presents an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced Salesforce Technical Lead who wants to work in a dynamic workplace environment with a real opportunity to positively influence the direction and outcome of strategic change programmes through best in class design thinking and practices.

The candidate will lead a team of highly motivated and driven specialists delivering real change within the Credit domain responsible for responsible for the technical design, delivery, and continuous enhancement of Salesforce‑based solutions, including nCino. The role requires a recognised technical specialist providing insight and expertise in collaborating with others and driving outcomes. Working alongside offshore and onshore colleagues, they will shape strategic change programmes, build resilient and modern systems, and influence engineering best practices across AIB.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver high‑quality, secure, reliable Salesforce solutions across multiple agile squads
  • Lead technical design and implementation on Salesforce & nCino managed package.
  • Mentor and guide the Salesforce engineering team within the Credit domain.
  • Improve and enhance engineering standards and development practices.
  • Drive DevOps adoption, environment monitoring, and automated delivery models.
  • Contribute to code review processes and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement and improvement of the Salesforce Credit Engineering function.
  • Contribute to the expansion of the Salesforce credit engineering function and the identification of new areas where Salesforce can offer benefit to AIB
  • Roll out AI capabilities and tooling to accelerate delivery and increase team effectiveness
  • Recognised as a Salesforce Technical Architect providing insight and expertise in directing others and ensuring maximum productivity by constantly monitoring and improving software development practice

What You Will Bring

  • 8+ years’ hands on experience with Salesforce engineering and architecture.
  • Experience delivering Salesforce / nCino solutions at scale.
  • Experience in leading large and diverse teams of engineers, with responsibility for professional and career development 
  • Strong focus on non-functional quality requirements in security, performance, scalability, testability and sustainability of technical deliverables.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills; with the ability to communicate technical issues and strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences at senior levels.
  • Knowledge and experience of best practices in application design, build and/or system integration on the Salesforce platform, with programming skills across Apex, Visualforce and Lightning Components.
  • Salesforce Certifications, particularly Platform Developer I and Application or System Architect
  • Experience in effort estimation and ability to challenge estimates
