Technical And Quality Manager

Fane Valley Feeds is one of the largest feed companies in Northern Ireland with manufacturing facilities in Omagh and Newry. With one of the most modern animal feeds mills in Europe, Fane Valley Feeds is committed to producing the highest quality feeds for our customers.

We now wish to recruit a temporary Technical & Quality Manager to join the Management Team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the position will mainly be based at the Omagh mill with a requirement to travel to our Newry and Ballindrait sites.

The Role:

• The Technical & Quality Manager will be responsible for leading a team to ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards;
• Overall responsibility for monitoring, controlling and updating technical, quality and environmental management systems;
• A willingness to take a fully hands-on approach to all aspects of the business;
• Requirement to support Smyths Daleside Technical and Quality function 1 day per week at our Ballindrait site.

The Person: 

• Third level qualification or equivalent in an agri-food, quality management or similar related discipline;
• At least 1 years’ experience in a technical role within a food or feed company;
• Ability to deal with customer technical and quality queries;
• Be IT literate;
• Hold a full current driving licence and use of car;
• Preference will be given to candidates with a knowledge of relevant technical and quality accreditation bodies (DAERA, UFAS);
• Ideally have experience in managing staff in a supervisory/managerial role.
